Coming Soon: Free conferences on Autism

The Autism Education Trust (AET) supported by the Department for Education will be holding 2 free autism conferences

Following its successful schools training programme which has trained over 33,000 school staff since 2012, the AET is launching  early years and post 16 programmes which will provide three tiers of training for staff across the full range of settings.

Early Years Launch - Birmingham, 21st October

Post 16 Launch - London, 22nd October

These will:

  • Give delegates a 'taster' of all three tiers of training
  • Walk through new FREE autism standards for early years or post 16 settings which enable provision to carry out self-evaluation and set their own priorities for improvement
  • Explore the new FREE early years or post 16 autism competency framework which allows staff to set training priorities
  • Input from Department for Education/Department for Business Innovation and Skills will set the training in the context of the new SEND legislation
  • Provide opportunities to hear from learners themselves and their families


Who should attend:

  • Nursery school, early years leaders and childminders
  • Local Authority support service and  Outreach leaders and teams
  • FE College Leaders and additional needs staff
  • Work-based learning providers
  • Service comissioners in early years and post 16 settings
