Empowering Parents and Carers

The Dyslexia-SpLD Trust is supporting a collaborative project, 'Empowering Parents and Carers' providing valuable information, resources and support services for parents and carers. It has brought together Dyslexia Action, The British Dyslexia Association, The Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre and Springboard for Children to share their expertise.

Empowering Parents and Carers Free Information Sessions

The project will provide support to a wider reach of parents and carers of children and young people with dyslexia through a series of drop-in sessions in a variety of locations and venues.  Parents and carers will be able to speak in confidence to trained specialist teachers, helpline supporters, skilled volunteers and other parents of children and young people with dyslexia. Please click here for our latest event timetable including dates and venues.

Parent Champions

We have launched an exciting initiative to recruit a team of Parent Champions across the UK. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about helping parents and carers of children with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties - and can give an hour a month to help families in their local community.  This network of parents will provide a way of disseminating information to other parents and carers.  For further information about our Parent Champions or to sign up please click here.
